Mr. Ciminello has a BA from Tufts University and he received a Masters in Environmental Management and a Masters of Arts in Public Policy Sciences from Duke University. In addition to conducting environmental investigations on over 1,000 properties, Mr. Ciminello has lectured on environmental assessment procedures and guidelines, most recently at Tufts University and Vassar College. She oversees the financial and personnel management for the company. Ms. Ciminello has a BA from Tufts University and a Masters in Public Administration (MPA) from The University of Oregon. Katherine Beinkafner Katherine Beinkafner serves as senior hydrogeologist. She conducts hydrogeological investigations for all major projects. She reviews remedial designs for groundwater treatment systems. She serves as an expert witness and has prepared testimony for public hearings and potential legal proceedings. Ms. Beinkafner received a BS and MA from SUNY New Paltz, a MS in Physics from University of Pennsylvania and a Ph.D. in Geology from Syracuse University. Full resume Kimberly Punchar E-Mail Kimberly Punchar serves as Director of Environmental Investigations for environmental site assessments and Phase II technical environmental investigations, and remedial projects including Brownfield sites. In this capacity, she conducts research to obtain field and regulatory information about the environmental status of a designated area. Ms. Punchar reviews all documents prepared by ESI to ensure consistency and technical accuracy. Her responsibilities associated with the preparation of site assessments include: investigating site histories, conducting facility inspections, reviewing regulatory agency records, documenting facility compliance with relevant State and Federal regulations, and preparing reports. As project manager for complex technical environmental investigations (including sites currently on the NYSDEC Registry of Inactive Hazardous Waste Sites), she is involved with: coordinating subcontractors; overseeing fieldwork; designing and implementing material, soil, and water sampling plans, preparing technical reports, and interfacing with regulatory agency personnel. Ms. Punchar has over 17 years experience in the preparation of Phase I, II & III investigations and in the management of complex remediation projects. She has extensive experience with both Petroleum Bulk Storage Regulations and Spill Prevention, Countermeasure, and Control Plan development. Ms. Punchar holds a BS in Environmental Science from Marist College, Poughkeepsie, New York. Richard Hooker E-Mail Richard Hooker serves as Senior Project Manager for investigative and remedial projects including Brownfields sites, Phase II investigations, tank removals, and environmental management of construction projects. He also prepares and evaluates interdisciplinary, comprehensive environmental impact assessment reviews. In these capacities, he develops investigative and remedial work plans, health and safety plans, performs fieldwork, and prepares technical reports. He works with regulatory authorities and subcontractors including construction personnel, waste repositories and haulage contractors, laboratories and drillers. His responsibilities associated with these investigative and remedial projects include: investigating site histories, document reviews, cost benefit analysis of remedial alternatives, overseeing excavations and in situ remediation, sampling, sample data evaluation, and obtaining regulatory closure. He has extensive experience of sampling and sample collection protocols for soil, vapor, indoor air, sediment, and groundwater and has worked to remediate a wide range of environmental contaminants including petroleum, heavy metals, PCBs, and solvents. Mr. Hooker holds a Ph.D. from the University of St. Andrews, St. Andrews, Scotland and a BA from Staffordshire University, Stoke-on-Trent, England. Prior to relocating to the Hudson Valley, he served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Glasgow, Scotland. Adam Atkinson E-Mail Adam Atkinson serves as Project Manager for environmental site assessments and Phase II technical environmental investigations. In this capacity, he conducts research to obtain field and regulatory information about the environmental status of a designated area. His responsibilities associated with the preparation of site assessments include: investigating site histories, conducting facility inspections, reviewing regulatory agency records, documenting facility compliance with relevant State and Federal regulations, and preparing reports. As project manager for Phase II technical environmental investigations, he is involved with managing tank removals, coordinating subcontractors, overseeing fieldwork, collecting soil, water, and air samples, and preparing technical reports. Mr. Atkinson manages the design and installation of vapor mitigation systems (e.g., sub-slab depressurization systems, soil vapor extraction systems, etc.) to address vapors associated with petroleum and other chemical contaminants, and as part of remedial efforts at designated State and Federal clean-up sites. Mr. Atkinson received a BS in Environmental Science from University of Utah and holds current certification with the National Radon Safety Board (NRSB) as a Radon Testing Specialist, EPA Certified Lead Inspector, AHERA Certified Asbestos Inspector, and Management Planner. Umesh Shrestha E-Mail Umesh Shrestha serves as Senior Project Manager for Phase II technical environmental investigations. In this capacity, he conducts research to obtain field and regulatory information about the environmental status of a designated area. As project manager for Phase II technical environmental investigations, he is involved with managing tank removals, coordinating subcontractors, overseeing fieldwork, collecting soil and water samples, and preparing technical reports. In addition, Mr. Shrestha provides hydrogeologic assistance for all relevant projects at ESI, including assistance with groundwater movement and contamination treatment. Mr. Shrestha received a BS in Agriculture from Rajendra Agricultural University, Pusa, India and a MA in both Environmental and Instructional Technology from New York Institute of Technology, New York City, Elizabeth Jerry E-Mail Elizabeth Jerry serves as Project Manager for environmental site assessments and Phase II technical environmental investigations. In this capacity, she conducts research to obtain field and regulatory information about the environmental status of a designated area. Her responsibilities associated with the preparation of site assessments include: investigating site histories, conducting facility inspections, reviewing regulatory agency records, documenting facility compliance with relevant State and Federal regulations, and preparing reports. As project manager assisting with Phase II technical environmental investigations, she is involved with overseeing fieldwork and collecting soil and water samples. Ms. Jerry served in the US Air Force where she completed an AS degree in Bioenvironmental Engineering Technology from Community College of the Air Force. She also holds a BS in Environmental Management from Eastern Connecticut State University. Melissia Pentz E-mail Melissia Pentz serves an Environmental Field Technician for environmental investigations. In this capacity, she conducts petroleum and chemical bulk storage program inspections, research to obtain field and regulatory information about the environmental status of a designated areas, completes soil and groundwater sampling and assist with advancement of soil borings and well installations. Her responsibilities associated with these investigative projects include: investigating site histories, document reviews, sampling, sample data evaluation, and obtaining regulatory closure. She has extensive experience with all phases of land surveying services including boundary, topographic survey, and construction layouts. Ms Pentz has additional experience in conducting storm water erosion and sediment control inspections. Ms. Pentz completed an AAS degree from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, Ranger School in Wanakena, New York. Colleen Rider E-Mail Colleen Rider serves as Office Manager / Project Coordinator for all work produced by Ecosystems Strategies, Inc. In this capacity, Ms. Rider provides initial Client contact and coordinates overall project schedules and subcontractor/vendor agreements. Concurrently, Ms. Rider is responsible for providing supporting communications and documentation (e.g., insurance certificates, public Agency communications) to facilitate service, delivery, and effective project completion. Ms. Rider works with internal and external parties to organize the various components needed to initiate, run, and conclude all projects. Ms. Rider holds an Associate Degree in Business with over 23 years experience in administrative management. Natalie Conklin E-Mail Natalie Conklin serves as Administrative Assistant for all work produced by ESI. She is responsible for all of the mapping & graphic work included in reports. She also coordinates document production, presentation of summary report data and field support.
